At Yogshakti we offer a variety of classes taking into consideration each student has specific needs. If one is new to Yoga we suggest you try a variety of classes/instructors and then decide which is most suitable to you. If you suffer form any injury past or present or have specific needs such as Pregnancy please inform the teacher before you join the class. We wish you a wonderful Yoga experience!

Classical Hatha Yoga- Paritosh Sharma, Shahira Aziz, Ozlem
This style of Yoga focuses on alignment along with the breath awareness. Students are trained to stay longer in poses rather than moving from one pose to another. The approach is gentle and accessible to even the people with back issues however, this style is suitable to every age group and is challenging for even the advanced practitioners.

Gentle Slow Paced Yoga – Leena Karmakalio
For Beginners who are looking for a slow paced Yoga class and Yoga Therapy for injuries for Back, Shoulders etc. This class is also suitable for those seeking emphasis on mindfulness/meditation in the practice. Leena will focus on bringing more awareness of the body’s messages, on natural movements of the body, on alignment in asana, on breathing and on stilling the mind.

Iyengar Yoga- Parveen Nair
This style of Yoga was initiated by the renowned BKS Iyengar. The system of teaching is methodical and progressive, emphasizing detailed correctness and absolute safety. When necessary, it uses supports called 'props' that allow students to progress in their practice of postures safely at their own pace, to suit their body. Beginners work in a basic way on simple postures according to their capabilities. As they develop they then move on to more refined ways of working as well as to more complex postures.

Core Strengthening & Vinyasa Flow Yoga- Rosalind Southward
This empowering class incorporates a strong focus on the core muscles, helping you build a deep inner strength to support your body both inside and outside of class. The word Vinyasa means “breath-synchronized movement.” This class is suitable for those who are seeking more movement and is more aerobic in its pace. In this class Rosalind emphasizes the importance of alignment whilst encouraging her students to tune into the more subtle energies of their own bodies, making adjustments to suit the individual needs of the student.

KUNDALINI YOGA – Lou & Jo Fuller
Kundalini Yoga is a holistic philosophy that will bring practical benefits of rejuvenation and healing. It is a comprehensive system of exercises, breathing, meditation, chanting and a healthy mental projection.

Kid’s Yoga – Margaret Lombard
A great way for kids to explore the unfamiliar with open minds and be comfortable in their bodies. Some of the benefits for kids who practice Yoga are improved body awareness, coordination, and stress relief. For kids who are not good at (or don’t enjoy) conventional sports, yoga may provide a much-needed physical outlet in a noncompetitive environment. Suitable for ages 5 to 11yrs.

Breathing/Pranayama; Deep Relaxation/ Yoga Nidra & Meditation – Balraj & Shilpa
“The mind alone is the cause of bondage and of liberation”. Through Yogic breathing exercises/ pranayama one can control the mind and facilitate meditation. Deep Relaxation is also an important adjunct to Meditation. There is enough Medical evidence to prove that meditation has far reaching effects on our immune system, nervous system and overall wellbeing.

21 Day Yoga Courses – Shilpa Ghatalia
This is comprehensive Yoga Course most suitable for those looking to deepen their practice & begin a home based self -practice. The course wills cover- Yoga Postures/ Asana; Pranayama/Breathing; Kriyas/ Cleansing techniques; Philosophy & Meditation. It is said; “practice something for 21 days and it will become a habit” One will be able to integrate the gems of Yoga into one’s daily life. Students are encouraged to attend classes 3 times a week. Each session will be of 2 hours duration. Prior registration is required for this course.

Buteyko Breath Workshops
Russian scientist & Doctor Konstantin Buteyko discovered a scientific breathing practice which has been used to successfully treat conditions as varied as Asthma, Chronic Fatigue, Snoring, Sleep Apnea, Infertility, Anxiety, Depression, Obesity, Hypertension, Hormonal disorders to name a few. No background in Yoga is necessary. In fact those who have done the method report that Yoga is easier! We have seen amazing results through this technique and run these workshops on a regular basis.
